On 16 November 2025, the Dorje Phagmo Wisdom Center in Olakha, Thimphu welcomed His Eminence Gyangkhang Chotrul Rinpoche, the Head Abbot of the renowned Palyul Namdroling Monastery in Mysore, India. The visit drew more than a hundred members of the local community, all eager to receive blessings and guidance from one of the most respected lineage holders of the Palyul tradition.
His Eminence Gyangkhang Chotrul Rinpoche is widely revered as the heart son of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, the late 11th Throne Holder of the Palyul lineage. He is also recognized as one of the three emanations of Terton Migyur Dorje Rinpoche, the treasure revealer of the Namcho cycle of teachings. This sacred lineage made the visit particularly meaningful for the devotees who gathered at the Center, many of whom had deep spiritual connections to the Palyul tradition.
The occasion was also profoundly significant for the Dorje Phagmo community because Khandro Dorje Phagmo, the founder of the Dorje Phagmo Foundation, is an alumni of Namdroling Monastery. This connection brought an added layer of joy and reverence as the Center welcomed a prominent teacher from the very lineage that shaped Khandro Dorje Phagmo’s early spiritual training.
The gathering began with the community offering traditional khadars and heartfelt prayers of welcome. His Eminence then bestowed blessings on the devotees who had gathered, filling the Center with warmth, devotion, and a strong sense of spiritual presence. Many attendees expressed that being in the presence of His Eminence brought a profound sense of clarity and inner calm.
The Dorje Phagmo Wisdom Center is steadily becoming a spiritual space known for meaningful teachings, ceremonies, and community engagement. The presence of His Eminence further reinforced the Center’s mission to provide accessible Dharma guidance and to strengthen the spiritual foundation of practitioners in Thimphu and beyond.
His Eminence Gyangkhang Chotrul Rinpoche is currently in Bhutan to participate in the ongoing World Peace Prayers in Thimphu, a major spiritual event that brings together masters, monks, and practitioners to offer prayers for global peace, harmony, and the well-being of all sentient beings. His visit to the Dorje Phagmo Wisdom Center took place during this sacred period, making it especially auspicious for the local community.
The Center expressed its heartfelt gratitude to His Eminence for honoring the community with his presence. The visit was also a moment of joy for devotees who may not often have the opportunity to meet lineage masters of such high recognition. For many, the blessings offered by His Eminence felt like a moment of rare spiritual alignment and inspiration.
